The Monches Recreation Club operates with the help of volunteers, like yourself. As a parent of a player in the program, it is recommended that you volunteer in order to receive your volunteer refund. There are many ways to volunteer this year. Coaching, concession stand, team manager, Chickenfest, or park maintenance.
You or a family member may volunteer for a minimum of 6 hours by doing any of the of the following:
(You must commit for the entire season if you plan to coach or be the team manager)
1. Coaching: Coach the entire season as a head coach or an assistant coach. This means they must commit to be at the majority of the games and attend most practices.
2. Concession Stand: Work the concession stand twice during the season for a total of 6 hours. When you sign up to work the concession stand, it is expected you arrive at 5:30pm and finish at 8:30pm. Concession stand sign up will be open once the schedules are finalized.
3. Team Manager: Team managers are responsible for distributing uniforms. They shall also communicate important team information and dates to the families. The team manager will coordinate a team donation basket for Chickenfest and with other Monches sponsored events.
4. Chickenfest: We need a lot of help to run Chickenfest. There are opportunities to work in concessions, run children’s games, monitor bounce houses, and sell raffle tickets in 3 hour shifts. Volunteers also receive a free Chickenfest t-shirt. Chickenfest begins at noon and runs until midnight.
5. Park Maintenance: The club will send out announcements when general or special maintenance projects around the park are needed. Typically, these are 3 hour shifts.
** Registered families that do not volunteer will be charged $50 at the end of the season, if they did not opt out of the volunteer agreement during registration.
