Monches Youth Baseball and Softball General Information

The Monches Recreation Club offers baseball and softball opportunities for youth between 4 and 18 years of age. The club provides quality coaches, exceptional facilities, and excellent competition. Recreation baseball starts the season in late-April with practices and ends at the end of July. The club offers six different levels for boys and girls.

Tee-ball (4K-5K) is designed to teach the kids basic fundamentals of baseball and help the players develop an interest in the game. They will play 10-12 games per season and practice several times before the season begins in June. The Monches team(s) will play against surrounding communities like Erin and North Lake on weekday evenings starting at 6pm.

Coach pitch teams are for coed students currently in 1st and 2nd grades. The coach pitch league is to develop individual skills and teach players how to play baseball with 3 outs per inning. Teams will play 10-12 games per season and practice several times before the season begins. The Monches team(s) will play against surrounding communities which include Erin and North Lake.

Girls Fast Pitch teams start in 3rd grade and they can play through their 9th grade year. Each team will play 12-20 games depending on the level. Teams participate in the Land O Hills league. Area teams include: Okauchee, Hartland, Merton, Stone Bank and Ixonia. The girls will have the opportunity to play one season ending tournament along with other possible weekend tournaments based on the coach’s discretion. Games are played on weeknights and the days vary.

Boys player pitch teams start in 3rd grade and continue through 8th grade. Each team will play 12-20 games depending on the level. The 3rd and 4th grade teams participate in the Land O Hills league which includes Sussex, Lisbon, North Lake, and Merton. The boys will have the opportunity to play one season ending tournament during the 3rd weekend of July. The 5/6 and 7/8 grade levels play in the Hartland/Pewaukee league. League play begins at the end of May and finishes with a season ending tournament towards the end of July. Coaches may play in other weekend tournaments based upon the interest of the teams. All games are played on weekdays in Hartland, Pewaukee, Sussex, North Lake or Erin.

Boys 14-18 years of age participate in the Brooks Baseball League. The league is organized by the Waukesha YMCA and the teams will play 10-15 games between June and the end of July.

All Monches players will receive a Monches baseball hat as part of the registration fee. Players will be responsible to have matching baseball pants. Jerseys are supplied by the Monches recreation club. It is also expected that parents volunteer during the season to help make the baseball experience a positive one.
